I'm moving the blog!

Pysanky from 2011 that have been the background image for seven years!

Hello all! In an attempt to remain up-to-date, I'm moving the blog to www.pysankypower.wordpress.com. You can also follow me on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ameliarandich/ and Facebook https://www.facebook.com/pysankypower/.

Same blog, just different address. I was able to port all the previous posts (although in some cases there do appear to be formatting issues), so the blog remains intact. Thank you for following my blog and I hope that you continue to follow me at my new address. My first post was on March 18, 2011... so I'm celebrating seven years!

40 Days of Pysanky 31: Drake with Suns

This Bukovynian folk pysanka is from Ferenchuk's collection (p. 120). The design is attributed to Olena Grigoryevna Moskal, from Vyzhnytsia Raion (Ukrainian: Вижницкий район), an administrative raion (district) in the southern part of Chernivtsi Oblast in western Ukraine, on the Romanian border.

40 Days of Pysanky 31-6: Preview

An error in packing has not allowed me to post information for these individual pysanky before Easter! However, these are all folk pysanky and I can provide some information. Starting with the purple pysanka at 6:00, this pysanka is featured in Ferenchuk's collection of Bukovynian pysanky. The rest are from Vira Manko's The Ukrainian Folk Pysanka and are (to the best of my recollection), starting from 8:00: Transcarpathia, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rivne. When I return home I'll make individual posts for these.

40 Days of Pysanky 30: Fractal Mosaic
